How do I set up an appointment?
For tattoos, we need you to come into the shop and talk with us about what you want to do. This will give us a chance to make sure that your tattoo will come out as good as possible by giving us an idea of what, where, how big, colors, etc and giving us some time to draw it up before your appointment. As well as giving you some suggestions to think about, too, dealing with the size, placement, and pricing, so you can be ready and make the right decisions.
We ask for a minimum of a $50 deposit for tattoos booked for 4 hours or less and a minimum of $100 deposit for more than a 4 hour appointment to hold your appointment time. Please don't mail in personal checks. Certified checks or money orders only. This is NOT an extra charge, it goes towards the price of the tattoo. It's just to secure your spot and not have our artists waiting around for someone who may not show up. Bring anything with you that can help us see and understand exactly what you want to have done (as far as reference material, photos). Consultations are free, so this is a good time to ask questions and work out the details.
Does it hurt?
The amount of pain depends on several factors, i.e. size and location of the tattoo, state of mind (if you dwell on the pain, it will hurt). If you relax and stay calm, your body can adjust to the pain to only an annoyance. There are many variances in the feeling all over the body. The "bony parts" are not always more painful than the "fatty parts." My advice, "Don't decide on the location based on pain, after it's all over with, you'll see it probably wasn't that bad. And you'll only regret not putting the tattoo where you originally wanted.
What about safety and sterility?
Every needle is ALWAYS brand new and autoclave sterilized for the best possible protection. The supplies used (such as razors, cups, and ink caps) are disposable. Any remaining items are wrapped in disposable plastic. Everything we do for sterility is for your protection as well as ours, so we don't take chances. All artists are inspected by the Meckenburg County Health Department annually and our autoclave is tested every month to confirm sterility.
